Meet Your Current Town Council

1

Scott Taylor

Scott lives in the CP area. Scott spent nearly 25 years as a police officer in Mesquite. He retired as Deputy Police Chief. He has been serving on council for nearly a year now and has done an amazing job. Scott has common sense and experience with public meetings. He is great at helping me keep the meeting focused and on track. He is a huge asset to the council and our town. He is always willing to help in any way that he can like participating in the community clean ups, town events, he helps with our emergency response and CERT team. He has also attended every coffee with the mayor since it started. He is great with the residents and good at listening and addressing concerns. We are lucky to have him.

2

Kevin Sair

Who doesn’t know Kevin? He is a longtime resident here in AV. I believe Kevin has served on town council for over 10 years and has always put the town first. Kevin loves God, his country and our town. He brings lots of knowledge about the history of AV and the council to the table. He helps us ensure we know the history and don’t make the same mistakes again. He is very passionate about our community and especially our water. He believes in protecting our water at all cost. He is very involved in emergency preparedness and ensuring the town will function in an emergency. Kevin also volunteers to serve as town treasurer.

3

Richard Palmer

Richard lives in the Gooseberry Area. Richard believes in clean eating, living naturally and being healthy. Richard started the community garden. It was his idea and he came to me and asked me for help to get it started. He spends countless hours working in the community garden and volunteering to help run it. He served on PC for many years before coming onto the town council. He too has served on council for about a year and has done an amazing job. Richard is the kind of guy that will do anything to help. Just ask him and he will help. He has amazing knowledge of gardening, farming butchering and living off what God has provided us.

3

Annie Spendlove

Annie is a long-time resident with lots of family ties in the area. She raises her very large family here in AV and is a huge asset to our community. She is heavily involved in the farming world and farmers markets. I believe she serves on the Utah Farm Bureau and wants to keep farming/ranching alive here in AV. She has dedicated her life to her family, her town and the farming community. She runs the farmers market in Hurricane and has opened her home to community members to promote farming and gardening. She brings her knowledge of rural living and farming to the table and helps us all keep AV rural.

Keep Apple Valley Rural

Growth

The citizens of Apple Valley wish to preserve the rural lifestyle; Mike Farrar could not agree more. Time to stop all unnecessary growth.

Water

The well-being of our residents takes priority over profits of developers. Drastically slowing growth ensures long-term access to the God given right of water.

Freedoms

Constitutional freedoms are a priority for our town’s residents and will be treated as such. Property rights will be upheld to the extent they do not impede on others’ rights & pursuit of happiness.

Budget

The town’s debt is an issue that must be immediately addressed. As mayor, Mike Farrar will have a duty to the residents to use his extensive experience in this field to remedy all past mistakes.
